With over 35 years of experience in the racing industry, Trevor, alongside his wife Joanne, has built a legacy of success from their Ascot and West Swan training facilities. Trevor’s journey began at a young age under the mentorship of Bert Harrison, working with renowned gallopers like Asian Beau and Fait Accompli. He also spent valuable time with the legendary Tommy Smith, further honing his skills.

Trevor’s career includes an impressive stint in Singapore, where he trained over 60 winners. He has consistently achieved top-tier victories, including Western Australia’s prestigious Group 1 Railway Stakes with Lucky Gray (2013) and Modem (2004). His success extends to other major races, such as the Group 2 WATC Derby with Heroicity (1992), A Lot Of Good Men (2024) and multiple wins in the Group 2 WA Guineas, Group 2 Karrakatta Plate, and Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic plus many more feature races along the way.

Known for his hands-on approach, Trevor is involved in every step of a horse’s career—from inspecting yearlings at the stud farms to evaluating them at the sales. He believes that seeing a horse early gives insight into its maturity, temperament, attitude, and will to race. “It’s the small things that help achieve great results,” says Trevor.

Trevor is proud of the long-term relationships he’s built with his owners and enjoys working with close-knit ownership groups. His focus is not only on delivering outstanding results but also on ensuring that the journey is enjoyable for all involved.
