Champion jockey Paul Harvey was cleared at a stewards’ inquiry yesterday and is free to ride nominal favourite Lucky Street in Sunday’s $150,000 Magic Millions WA 3YO Trophy (1200m) at Pinjarra.

Harvey, also booked for last-start winner Trademark in the $250,000 Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic (1200m), was quizzed at an adjourned inquiry over his ride on $1.55 favourite Two Silver Trees at Narrogin last Tuesday.

The Lindsey Smith-trained filly ran sixth after she was blocked for clear running in the straight.

“We took evidence from Paul Harvey and Lindsey Smith,” senior steward Rick Mance said.

“When deciding to take no action, we took into account that Two Silver Trees was having her first race. Her lack of experience was evident.”

Lucky Street will carry 56.5kg under the set-weights conditions on Sunday.

Boasting prize-money earnings in excess of $800,000, he faces only eight rivals and is expected to clearly head betting, regardless of tonight’s barrier draw.

Lucky Street was ridden by Harvey when he carried 54.5kg to win the Miss Andretti Stakes (1100m) at Ascot on January 16.

“All’s going well,” trainer Trevor Andrews said.

“He has no issues. Now it’s a case of keeping fingers crossed until Sunday’s race.”

Lucky Street is in line to complete a Magic Millions double.

He won last year’s two-year-old race before going on to claim the Perth Stakes (1100m) and Karrakatta Plate (1200m).

Andrews will pursue his fourth Magic Millions 2YO Classic when he saddles up Trademark and The River.

In addition to Lucky Street, he has also won with Ravinia and Time To Climb.

“Draws could be the key to this race,” Andrews said.

“However, I couldn’t be happier with our runners.

“Paul (Harvey) again rides Trademark and Shaun McGruddy’s on The River.”

Trademark won narrowly from The River over 1100m at Ascot last Saturday week.

Trainer Simon Miller has engaged Peter Knuckey to ride last-start Ascot 1100m winner Swedish Memories in the 2YO Classic and William Pike will be aboard stablemate Nobel Image.
