The first piece of what looks set to be a fascinating puzzle when it comes to jockeys deciding what horse they will ride in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m) appears to have fallen into place, with the in-form Chris Parnham set to stick with Princess Pierro.
Parnham has ridden the filly in all three of her starts this campaign, including a credible fourth placing in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes at Ascot last Friday.
The in-form jockey also rode Nocelle to her two victories in the spring, including the $100,000 Crystal Slipper.
However, Parnham told TABradio’s The Sunday Aftermath he was happy enough with how Princess Pierro was progressing towards the Group 2 event on April 14.
“She’s going really well, she ran super on Friday,” he said.
“Her racing probably doesn’t suit two-year-old racing, that’s a slight concern, but I think she’s still in with a good chance in the Karrakatta and she’s probably an even better chance in the Sires.
“She’s definitely still on the way up and hopefully she can pick up one of those features going forward.”
